Join us for the ultimate 19th century romantic fantasy experience - a ball inspired by the Charity Ball In Atlanta from the first part of Gone with the Wind.
Bangers & Mash plays an evening of exquisite waltzes and quadrilles, lively polkas and schottisches, mazurka waltzes, and breathless reels and contradances popular in both the North and the South during the American Civil War. There will be a pre-ball dance lesson at 7:00 pm and, as usual, all set dances will be briefly taught or called.
Suggested costume is mid-Victorian evening dress (1850’s or ‘60’s) or modern evening dress. European or Southern gentlemen in uniform are also most welcome. As usual, however, costumes are admired, not required.
Punch and a light snack buffet will be served throughout the evening (Your potluck contributions to the buffet during these difficult times are greatly appreciated!).
