Yo
ho,
yo
ho,
a
pirate's
life
for
me.
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle, and loot,
Drink up, me hearties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot,
Drink up me hearties, yo ho.

Avast, me hearties! Join us for a rip-roaring
evening of
dancing, song, and mayhem.
The salty dogs of Bangers and Mash
will play a full evening
of waltzes, polkas, and dashing country dances from the 17th through
the 19th
century (All country dances will be briefly taught or called). For
those of you
who need a brush-up in your country dancing, there will be a pre-ball
dance
class from 7 to 8pm. Formal dancing to the band begins at 8pm. And, of course, we will dance "The
Congress of Vienna," "The Jolly Roger de Coverley," and
"Captain Jack Sparrow's Hornpipe."
Pirate costume - both period and Hollywood style -
is
admired, but not required. Come either in
your finest 17th, 18th or early 19th
century attire or in fantasy pirate costume from any literary universe
(or mix
and match!). Just be sure to wear shoes
or boots you can really dance in!
There will be piratical musical entertainment, a no-host bar (that means you pay for your own drinks, Mateys!) and a light snack buffet. (As usual, potluck contributions to the boatswain's buffet will be greatly appreciated. We don't care where you got 'em from).
